Tuesday, April 25, Golf Uno hosted a day with 32 future physical education teachers from Høgskolen i Østfold in Halden. All the students had the opportunity to participate as students in a regular physical education class, where the focus was on exercises from the handbook “Impactito.”
Staff from Uno had planned the session in advance and divided it into two parts. The first half took place in a gymnasium, where four different exercises had been set up—two focused on putting and two on chipping. The second half was spent outdoors, where students worked in groups to design and create their own golf holes. Once completed, all the holes were played using the scramble format in groups.
They were also given an overview of how the exercises could be adapted easily to suit everyone. The students got to try all the exercises in a wheelchair as well.
Positive Feedback
The feedback received was that this was a positive and new experience that was simple enough for even those with no prior knowledge of golf to handle without any problem. The exercises themselves, as described in the handbook, were easy to understand and required very little explanation.
All in all, a fantastic day at Østfold University College!
